Upstate Veterinary Specialties Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 152 Sparrowbush Road Hospital

Upstate Veterinary Specialties continues to expand healthcare services for pets in the Albany, NY and Tri-State areas. A Ribbon Cutting Ceremony was held on Tuesday, December 15, emceed by the Capital Region Chamber and attended by local government officials, investors, contractors, architects, UVS veterinarians and staff.

The ceremony occurred during a brief pause in the work of preparing equipment and operations for the opening of the new hospital the next day.  During the move UVS will temporarily close starting December 11.  Following the move to the new hospital, Upstate Veterinary Specialties will open its doors to patients Wednesday, December 16.

Specialty departments traditionally open during the day Monday through Friday such as Cardiology, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Ophthalmology, Radiology and Rehabilitation will now share space with an Emergency and Critical Care service at the new facility.

Once the new hospital opens, emergency veterinary care will be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  The new UVS emergency service will feature the leadership of a board-certified critical care specialist and several experienced emergency veterinarians.
