TEDxAlbany, an independently organized event inspired by the TED experience, announces its lineup of speakers and event registration for attendees. The daylong event is scheduled for Thursday, December 7 at Overit and will feature talks from noteworthy thought-leaders on a variety of topics.
TEDx events are independently organized programs in communities around the world intended to promote conversation around a wide variety of topics. The annual TED Conference invites leading thinkers and doers to come together to share world-changing ideas with multiple initiatives. TED speakers have included David Blaine, Bill Clinton, Ellen Gustafson, Imogen Heap and many more.
This year’s confirmed speakers for TEDxAlbany 2017 include:
– Jene Luciana: TV style expert & best-selling author, as seen on Access Hollywood, Bravo, E!, TODAY
– Meg Wilkinson: Invasive Species Database Coordinator for the New York Natural Heritage Program
– David King: Editor/Associate Publisher for The Alt
– Darian Ahmadizadeh: 13-year-old mathematician

“The diversity of the topics and the enthusiasm of the speakers this year is quite extraordinary,” said Lisa Barone, TEDxAlbany organizer. “The talks we have selected for this year’s event range from teaching mathematics, to understanding the link between fit women and ovarian cancer, to understanding the power of our own urine. Each presentation will educate, inspire and generate conversation – the ultimate goal for each TEDx event.”
