Officials from SUNY Schenectady County Community College and SUNY Cobleskill today announce the signing of a new transfer agreement. Students who graduate from the SUNY SCCC Biotechnology A.S. degree program or the Biological Technician A.A.S program, some of the newest at the College, will now be able to transfer seamlessly into SUNY Cobleskill’s 120-credit Biotechnology B.S. degree program.

“We’re very pleased to work with SUNY Cobleskill to offer our students a smooth progression to earn their bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology,” said Dr. Steady Moono, SUNY SCCC President. “The field of biotechnology continues to expand rapidly and this new agreement provides another avenue for our students to be competitive and have rewarding careers in the sciences.”

“This articulation agreement provides a future of unlimited possibilities for Biotechnology students to advance in their careers in fields that are shaping the world,” said Dr. Marion Terenzio, President of SUNY Cobleskill. “It is a testimony to our commitment to educational innovation and our desire to create pathways that help every student achieve their goals.”

Last year, SUNY SCCC unveiled a new 3,800-square-foot Biotechnology Laboratory and Research Facility where students learn on cutting-edge equipment in research spaces dedicated to original scientific investigation in the fields of biology and biotechnology, a microscopic imaging room, and a dedicated student collaboration area.
