St. Catherine’s Center for Children to Hold 2nd Annual Expressive Arts Exhibit

St. Catherine’s Center for Children will hold its 2nd annual Expressive Arts Exhibit at the Albany Barn Stage 1 Gallery next Thursday, June 16 from 5 to 7 pm. The exhibit will feature original art work created by children and families of St. Catherine’s Center for Children. Expressive Arts Therapy uses the arts to promote healing, enhance coping skills, and foster emotional growth. Some 80 children and 12 adults at St. Catherine’s participated in the program this year.

Ernesto Molina, an Expressive Arts Therapist, guided participants as they explored using art as a tool to promote self-care for themselves and their families. Albany Barn is located at 46-48 North Swan Street in Albany.

The art exhibit, open free to the public, will include light refreshments and entertainment provided by a harpist. St. Catherine’s Expressive Arts Program is made possible thanks to a grant from the Barry Alan Gold Memorial Fund of the Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region.
