Proctors Theatre in downtown Schenectady Receives $968K Boost in ‘Alive Downtowns!’ Funding from this year’s state budget Says Assemblyman Santabarbara:
“Supporting arts and entertainment enriches our communities,” said Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara. “Historic theaters like Schenectady’s Proctors Theatre, celebrating its 98th birthday this December, have delighted, inspired, and educated audiences for nearly a century. We have seen how strategic investments in arts and entertainment have revitalized downtown Schenectady, showcasing its impact firsthand. This year’s new ‘Alive Downtown!’ funding, I helped secure in this year’s state budget with $968,000 allocated for Proctors Theatre, will continue to uplift this local landmark, expand job opportunities, and stimulate our economy and tourism drivers.” In addition, the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall and the Palace Theatre will each receive $300,000.
