October 27, 2016Regional Entrepreneurs Dussault, Leahy & Mazzone to Highlight Nov. 18 Global Entrepreneurship Week Event at Clarkson Capital Region Campus in Schenectady
Capital Region entrepreneurs David Dussault, Andrew (AJ) Leahy and Matt Mazzone will be the featured speakers at a morning panel discussion in celebration of Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) at Clarkson University’s Capital Region Campus in Schenectady.
The Friday, Nov. 18, event will begin at 7:30 a.m. with networking over breakfast and a welcome from School of Business Dean, Dayle M. Smith. The panel discussion will run from 8-9 a.m. with Q&A to follow. . The speakers will stay afterward for those who wish to meet them and continue networking. It takes place at Clarkson’s Capital Region Campus at 80 Nott Terrace in Schenectady.
The panelists will discuss “The Entrepreneurial Stages: Startup, Growth Mode and Expansion as a Mature Organization,” with Leahy representing the startup entrepreneur, Dussault the growth mode and Mazzone the mature organization in expansion mode.
During the session, moderated by Assistant Professor of Business Mel Chudzik, each entrepreneur will share his story on how they started the business, bumps along the way and strategies for success.
Dussault is the founder and CEO of P1 Industries, LLC (P1), a fully integrated manufacturing and supply chain network making turnkey products for OEM’s in the energy and aerospace markets.
Leahy is the president and co-founder of the Peace of Mind Company (POMCO), a venture-backed technology company in the safety and security space.
Mazzone is the chief operating officer of Mazzone Hospitality, the leading restaurant and catering business in the Capital region, which has serviced the Capital District for the past 23 years.
Capital Region business people, as well as Clarkson/UGC alumni and students around the region are invited to attend.

In a second Global Entrepreneurship Week event, Clarkson will also host an “Innovative Teaching & Learning Symposium” on Nov. 16 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. A panel of secondary STEM and humanities teachers alumni will showcase innovative teaching and learning practices and share ideas about project-based learning, 3D printing, flipping the classroom, and engaging reluctant learners.
