Overit Promotes Lisa Barone to Chief Marketing Officer (CMO)

Overit, a creative marketing agency based in upstate New York, announced today the promotion of Lisa Barone to chief marketing officer (CMO). In this role, Barone is responsible for increasing revenue through the planning, development and execution of the agency’s marketing initiatives, while continuing to provide strategic oversight to key Overit client accounts and campaigns.

Prior to her promotion to CMO, Barone had served as vice president of strategy at Overit since 2012. In this role, she brought her business expertise and marketing leadership to the agency’s senior staff and spearheaded the social media and content marketing departments. Barone has been the lead strategic voice on award-winning accounts such as the Pharmaceutical Manufacturers of America’s (PhRMA)’s MyOldMeds campaign, an Acxiom multi-series content marketing initiative, CDTA’s smart card branding and social media launch, among others.

Over the course of her career, Barone has had several senior positions managing all aspects of marketing, including digital marketing, social marketing, content marketing, SEO and corporate branding. She has spoken nationally about the importance of brand and marketing, and is a sought-after voice among her peers.

“Barone is a powerhouse,” said Dan Dinsmore, founder and principal at Overit. “Her leadership has helped shape the growth of Overit considerably over the past five years, resulting in new departments, additional growth opportunities and has moved the company, and her team, forward. In the role of CMO, Barone’s expertise will elevate the Overit brand and drive revenue companywide. I’m excited to see her step into the role of CMO.”

In 2009 Barone co-founded Outspoken Media, a search agency in Troy, NY. Within three years, she helped the agency grow to be a competitor on the national stage. In addition, Barone led the brand voice for Bruce Clay, Inc., a global Internet marketing company, from 2006 to 2008, and served as head writer from 2008 to 2009 for We Build Pages (now Internet Marketing Ninjas), a marketing agency.
