Nonprofit University Presents: “Leadership Essentials” by Laurie Ballard

“Nonprofit University” at the Institute for Nonprofit Leadership and Community Development will launch a 3-part workshop series focused on leadership in nonprofit organizations starting on Tuesday, September 22nd at 9:00am. “Leadership Essentials” is the first of three workshops being presented by Laurie Ballard, President of LMB Development Consulting, and will explore leadership best practices, real-life workplace challenges and a plan of action to help participants take their skills to the next level.

Following “Leadership Essentials” will be “Managing Every Day, Building for Tomorrow” on October 22nd and “Strategies to Manage People and Projects” on November 17th.

Laurie Ballard is the President of LMB Development Consulting, a Capital Region company that supports nonprofit organizations and businesses in identifying, developing and implementing short and long-term strategies that promote growth and build long-term sustainability. Throughout her career, Laurie has designed an effective and successful development approach that has resulted in the securing of numerous national, state, and federal grants, major gifts, and community partnerships. Laurie’s work includes leadership and management training and coaching, board training and development, strategic planning, fundraising and communications, and organizational development. She has successfully built strong and cohesive teams and is viewed as a mentor by many in her profession.

Nonprofit University is a professional development subscription series for all levels in the nonprofit organization. Taught by university faculty and subject matter experts from across the Capital Region, Nonprofit U’s interactive and engaging workshops cover all aspects of nonprofit operations and management. Workshops are geared toward executive directors, board members, managers, employees and volunteers. All workshops are currently being conducted as live, interactive webinars and are generally two hours in length.

Nonprofit University is a program of The Institute of Nonprofit Leadership and Community Development, an interdisciplinary community that works to improve nonprofit efficiency and impact in the Capital Region. Founded in 2016, the Institute is a collaborative of the University at Albany’s Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy, the Colleges of Public Health, Social Welfare, Criminal Justice, Business, and Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security and Cyber Security, Albany Law School, and Albany Medical College.
