Nisky Martial Arts and Family Center Breaks into Niskayuna

The Chamber on Thursday, June 28th was part of a welcome and grand opening of Nisky Martial Arts and Family Center. Located in the ShopRite plaza, the owners were joined by students and their families, local elected officials, family and friends. The large crowd was entertained by a band and catering from fellow Chamber member D&L Hospitality.

Master Kyle Phillips, the founder and owner, started practicing Taekwondo at four years old. He did it just for fun not realizing that it would hold a much greater purpose in his life. Kyle earned his black belt at 11 and is a National Gold medalist and former national team member. His passion now is to pass along the lessons and skills he has learned over the past 28 years. His wife Devica Phillips has been by his side and worked tirelessly to help him open the new studio and follow his passion.  Natives of Schenectady they both graduated from Schenectady high in the early 2000’s.

Nisky Martial Arts creates a fun, safe and structured learning environment.  They focus on character development and teaching life skills through martial arts practice.
