June 26, 2017Myers Ballet School Announces 2017 Scholarship
Our brother Bill was a goodhearted and generous person. Bill danced with Schenectady Civic Ballet in the 70’s. He often partnered with Darlene Myers. Unfortunately, his dancing career was cut short, due to a knee injury from a car accident. Bill was happiest during his days of dance. We are sure he would be so proud to know he is helping young dancers fulfill their dreams through the William H. Komp Scholarship. We began the scholarship with family and friends donations soon after his death in 2010, in 2014 we started ‘Nature Walk to Dance’ which we affectionately call ‘The Bill Walk’. The Bill walk has gotten bigger and bigger every year. This year we had two Myers studio families join us too. It was an extra special walk this year because it was also Bill’s birthday! The weather was perfect. We like to think he had something to do with that. We would like to thank Darlene Myers and the Myers Studio for all their support. We look forward to next springs “Nature Walk to Dance.”
