Member Spotlight: FunCycled

FunCycled created in 2012, started out by sharing tips for redoing furniture and then selling the furniture online. FunCycled is a family owned and operated business.  Since their start, they’ve grown from selling repurposed furniture to designing custom furniture orders like dining room tables, launching into interior design services, and kitchen cabinet painting.

FunCycled greatly values community and giving back.  Over the years they have been able to host and support local events for good causes.  Near and dear to their hearts is in their desire to not only repurpose but to actually restore something that is broken and make it beautiful again.  They are currently partnering with a non-profit organization to help the most vulnerable people through dignified design. They are also moving into a community work space to help other entrepreneurs bring dreams to reality and teach some of the valuable insights that they have learned over the years.

An interesting fact most people don’t know about the business is that a typical kitchen project can be done in about one week, making it quick, efficient, and less expensive. Old furniture is usually made with a much higher craftsmanship and quality than new furniture. Repurposed interior designs can look brand new and save their clients so much money!

Since opening the business, they have been given so many fun & new opportunities and they love to take full advantage of those opportunities.  They have been able to participate on HGTV’s Flea Market Flip and BYU’s Survivalist.

FunCycled, is known for their commitment to repurposing and reusing.  They take the approach that if you look at something with fresh eyes and perspective (and a little elbow grease!), it will have new life again!  This is distinctly true for our approach to kitchens.  They take their client’s current kitchen cabinets and repurpose them by painting them.  They have a high end, commercial air sprayer that gives a durable, professional finish. The finish is not the same as rolling paint on cabinets; it’s much better. They spray all the doors and drawers in shop and paint the boxes by hand so they don’t make a mess in your home.

With 12 years of experience, they are known for their attention to detail and ability to provide quality outcomes at a fraction of the price of a full remodel- all while keeping a focus on earth conscious living.

“I love being a Chamber member because it aligns me with people who are passionate and actively looking to grow their business. The networking events are a great benefit.  I value being with other business owners, and the opportunity to share ideas and collaborate. I have been able to participate in the networking events, the BRG, and the Women’s Business Council,” said owner Sarah Trop.

“I love being able to be at the beach, at a lake, in the mountains, or in a big city like Boston or NYC in under 3 hours!  It makes a weekend trip and travel so easy.  I am a girl who loves to travel!”

“One of the nicest things a client/customer has said about my services was from the first design client who hired me said she picked me as her designer because she could tell I would care about the older character in her home while also making it feel new.”
