Meet the Computer Wiz / Software for Education

Some of the most severe problems of our planet (overpopulation, poverty, etc.) can be solved by education, and educating girls in particular.  Rotarian Frank G. Quinn has devoted his life to helping students around the world get access to education via computers and cell phones.  He has set up computer labs and volunteered in Africa, Asia and the USA.  Frank is currently amassing a suite of educational software that can be shipped with the cost of a postage stamp to regions of the world that lack Internet and/or are prone to viruses.  The software suite includes 1000 books and educational videos.  This Tuesday, October 18, Frank will be Niskayuna Rotary’s guest speaker.  Frank will be sharing some useful tips that all of us can use for getting more out of our laptops and smartphones.  Niskayuna Rotary meetings are 7:15 AM to 8:15 AM at the Blue Ribbon Restaurant & Bakery, 1801 State St (Route 5).  Guests are always welcome.
