Koppett To Host Training Session in Versatile New Building

The Mopco Improv Theatre, home of Koppett, the organizational development and training wing of Mopco LLC, will be hosting part of Leadership Tech Valley’s December training session. The program will be among the first to utilize the building’s first floor black box theatre and second floor multi-purpose office space for a combined presentation/training event.

“The building was designed with versatility in mind. We are really looking forward to seeing it in action,” said Mopco’s artistic director Michael Burns. Burns will be leading Leadership Tech Valley attendees in improv activities designed to enhance leadership styles.

The downstairs theatre and cafe typically serves as a 70-seat performance venue, and space for rehearsals and classes. The second floor is an open and modular office space with mobile chairs, whiteboards, and conference table, as well as a full kitchen and bath.

The acquisition and renovation of the North Jay Street building is a big leap for Burns and Kat Koppett, founder and CEO of Koppett, “It was a natural progression to get to this point,” said Koppett. “We’re used to doing off-site work with our clients, but with the growth of the company, having our own space available as a resource to local businesses made sense and felt good.” Koppett clients include multinational corporations Apple and Facebook, as well as local companies MVP and the SUNY Research Foundation. The consultancy and The Mop & Bucket Co., main stage troupe at the theatre, often work together to create innovative programs for business.

Those interested in visiting or using the new space are encouraged to contact the theatre via email at hey@mopco.org.
