The Chamber was honored to be involved in the grand opening/ribbon cutting of the new Capital Region Furniture Bank a program of HATAS (Homeless and Travelers Aid Society). HATAS does great things in and around our community to help the less fortunate. On this beautiful sunny day, Executive Director Liz Hitt was joined by employees, local officials, family and friends. Cutting the ribbon was just the start as Liz and crew have much work to do to fill the warehouse and keep it that way. Unfortunately, the demand for this type of facility is quite high. If you have any gently used furniture that you would like to donate, simply call 518-612-BANK or visit the warehouse on 5 Anderson Drive in Albany. You could help get someone on their feet again!
