Governor Cuomo Announces Albany’s Clinton Square As $10 Million Capital Region Winner Of The Third-Round Downtown Revitalization Initiative

On Thursday, September 27, Governor Cuomo announced Albany’s Clinton Square as a third round recipient of a $10 million Downtown Revitalization Initiative award. As part of the City of Albany’s successful application for Clinton Square, more than $280 million of investment is proposed and more than $80 million is underway in downtown Albany — with the support of Governor Cuomo’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative and the Capital Region Economic Development Council, downtown Albany, and the Region is poised for unprecedented success.

Through engagement with hundreds of stakeholders and several community workshops the City of Albany was successful in creating the strongest application possible for our community’s needs. The City of Albany is eager to further the work of the successful community engagement process and we look forward to working with the community to leverage this investment in the Capital Region with the expertise of the State’s planning team.
