Give Blood August 25 at Schenectady County Public Library

The Red Cross is urging blood donors with all blood types to give now. Hospital patients don’t get a summer holiday or vacation from needing blood. They are counting on donors like you. With many donors vacationing and schools that host blood drives on break, August is an especially difficult time to collect enough blood donations to meet the needs of patients.

Eligible donors with types O, B negative or A negative blood are especially needed.

If you are one of these types and meet the following physical criteria, please consider doing a double red cell donation:

Males:  130 lbs and 5’1”   Females:  150 lbs  and 5’5”

Can we count on you to schedule an appointment to give? As a special thank-you, all presenting donors through August 31 will receive a $5 Amazon gift card via email.

Give blood on Thursday, August 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the McChesney Room at the Schenectady County Public Library, 99 Clinton Street, Schenectady.
