Girl Scouts of Northeastern New York Staff Member Joins National Council Advisory Team

Girl Scouts of Northeastern New York (GSNENY) has announced Liz Black, GSNENY’s council Executive Assistant and Governance Liaison, has been selected to serve on the Girl Scouts of the USA’s (GSUSA) National Council Session Advisory Team.

The National Council Session (NCS) is the Girl Scouts movement’s largest, triennial governance meeting. More than 1,000 elected Council National Delegates convene to debate and vote on issues important to the movement.

The 57th National Council Session will take place in July 2026, the year of our nation’s 250th anniversary, in our nation’s capital, Washington, DC. The NCS Advisory Team will give guidance to GSUSA in planning the event.

“I believe her efforts this past year, to engage her fellow delegate liaisons, create dedicated time and space for girl delegates to build relationships, her sharing knowledge and creating helpful materials for others in her role around the country was acknowledged by her selection. GSUSA is fortunate to have Liz on this team,” said Brenda Episcopo, CEO of GSNENY.

Black was selected out of nearly 100 applicants. She has held her position as the Executive Assistant and Governance Liaison for GSNENY since April 2021. Her duties have included being the national delegate liaison for the GSNENY Council for the 2023 National Convention, including the 56th National Council Session.
