November 19, 2020Funding Gap, Mentoring in Action, and more!
Our celebrations this year may be smaller and look a bit different. But take comfort knowing that we will get through these challenging times together.
COVID-19 affects all of us in many ways, but it disproportionately affects the families that Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region typically serves. Beginning in early spring, requests for essential services – food, healthcare, rent assistance, behavioral health – have increased exponentially.
BBBSCR is uniquely positioned to provide virtual support to the community we love. Our mentors continue to serve as a vital source of consistency and connection. Yet in the midst of this crisis, when our services are more critical and our mission more urgent than ever, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region faces a daunting fiscal year budget shortfall.
Simply put, your support is more vital than ever before.
Help us bridge this gap. Please make a gift to BBBSCR by December 31st.
Thanks to an anonymous donor, you can double the impact of your gift with a dollar-for-dollar match up to $10,000 through the end of December.
As the season of Thanksgiving is upon us, let me conclude by saying: thank you. Thank you for believing in us. Thank you for believing in the families we serve. Thank you for standing shoulder to shoulder with us for the last fifty-plus years and standing with us now, as we face new challenges. With your support, we won’t stop fighting for Capital Region youth.
Wishing you and your family a joyous Thanksgiving,
Lea Montalto-Rook
Chief Executive Officer
