Friends of Albany Public Library Host Two Author Talks in October

The Friends of Albany Public Library will host talks by local authors Joseph Dalton and Angela Gordon in October. Dalton will speak on Tuesday, Oct. 23, about his book Washington’s Golden Age: Hope Ridings Miller, the Society Beat, and the Rise of Women in Journalism. Gordon will speak on Tuesday, Oct. 30, about her novel Manipulation Unto Death: Vow of Control.

Both author talks will take place at 12:15 pm at the Washington Ave. Branch in the large auditorium.  These events are free and open to the public.

The authors will discuss their books, and sign copies as requested. The books will also be available for sale. The events will include a reception with light refreshments.

In Washington’s Golden Age, Dalton explores the life of a woman journalist who reported on the world of politics, diplomacy, and society during a career that lasted from the 1930s to the 1970s. Dalton is a reporter for the Times Union, primarily reviewing art and music events in the Capital Region.

Gordon’s Manipulation Unto Death is a story that begs society to reexamine the notion of whether children should be seen and not heard, as well as whether society truly understands the wide spectrum of autism disorders. Gordon is an associate professor of business administration at The College of Saint Rose.
