Food Insecurities in Our Hometown: City Mission and the Weekend Backpack Program

Did you know that nearly 100% of the students in Schenectady City Schools are eligible for free or reduced-price lunch programs? The City Mission of Schenectady and their partners with the “Weekend Backpack Program” are working to ensure that no child goes hungry. Learn more about their work and how you can help. This program is part of the Local Eats exhibit and lecture series.

Want to join the fight against poverty? Bring two bar soap or toothpaste items to donate to City Mission, and receive free admission to this program. But don’t feel like you need to stop there! As an added bonus, we will offer a special prize to the person who brings in the largest contribution!!
