Family Fun Day at the Moo-Seum

The Albany Institute of History & Art invites families to explore art and animals at their Family Fun Day at the Moo-seum on Saturday, September 22 from 10AM-4:30PM. Activities are included with museum admission.

Throughout the day, the Albany Institute will host animal-themed activities to encourage families to explore the Institute’s animal themed exhibitions: Birds & Beasts: The Scary, Magical, and Adorable Animals of the Albany Institute and A Menagerie of Whimsey: The Art of William B. Schade.

Animal themed activities include tales of birds and beasts in story time with the Albany Public Library and the 2018 Albany Tulip Queen Sawyer Cresap, face painting, and a sing-a-long to popular children’s songs with Andy “the Music Man’ Morse. There will also be art activities and a scavenger hunt that will provide a fun way for families to explore the exhibitions.

• 10AM-4:30PM: Create your favorite animal in the Art Studio
• 10:30AM-11AM: Enjoy tales of birds and beasts in story time with the Albany Public Library
• 11:30AM-12PM: Enjoy tales of birds and beasts in story time with the Tulip Queen
• 11AM-2PM: Turn into your favorite animal with face painting
• 1PM-2PM: Sing animal songs in a sing-a-long with Andy “the Music Man” Morse

The Albany Institute of History & Art is located at 125 Washington Avenue in Albany, New York. Free parking is available in the museum’s lot at the corner of Elk and Dove Streets.
The Albany Institute is open Wednesday 10am-5pm, Thursday 10am-8pm, Friday 10am-5pm, Saturday 10am-5pm, and Sunday noon-5pm. The café and museum shop hours are available online. The Research Library is open on Thursdays from 1pm-4:30pm and by appointment.

Current admission rates are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and students with ID, $6 for children aged 6-12, and free for children under 6. Albany Institute members are admitted for free. There is no charge to visit the café or museum shop. The museum offers free admission to the galleries on Thursdays from 5pm-8pm and on the First Fridays of the month from 5pm-8pm.
