DeCrescente to Distribute Local Artisanal Brew Works

DeCrescente Distributing Company (DDC) is proud to announce a partnership to distribute Artisanal Brew Works of Saratoga Springs, NY.

Since opening in July 2016, Artisanal Brew Works has grown steadily. As sales to bars, restaurants, and beverage centers increased, it became difficult for Artisanal to cover the sales and service demands of their ever-growing customer list. “We are very excited that Artisanal has chosen DeCrescente as its wholesaler in the Capital Region and we look forward to working with them to continue their growth,” said C.J. DeCrescente, president of DeCrescente Distributing Company. “Their high quality local beers will make a great addition to our wholesale offerings and further strengthen our all-important craft portfolio.” In collaborating with DeCrescente, who will focus on sales and distribution, Artisanal can dedicate its efforts to producing high quality New York State (NYS) craft beer.

Artisanal Brew Works is a NYS Farm Brewery, which by law has to use at least 20% NYS grown ingredients; the farm licensing also allows for self-distributing. “We started selling kegs to bars and restaurants one year ago,” said Kurt Borchardt, co-owner and brewer at Artisanal Brew Works. “One year later, and we’re significantly ramping up production.” Colin Quinn, co-owner and brewer at Artisanal, added, “We purposely grew our business slowly so we could optimize the intricacies of our brewery equipment, as well as NYS grown hops and barley.”

Artisanal makes a wide array of beer styles, including IPAs, Belgian style beers, as well as lower alcohol “session” style beers such as a pale ale, brown ale, and an oatmeal stout. “We want to have beer styles that appeal to a variety of customers,” said Borchardt. Quinn added, “It was difficult to decide which beers we wanted DeCrescente to focus sales efforts on; we decided on three product lines: our “White in the Glasses” Belgian Wit, our “Daily Double” New England style IPA.” The third product will be a series of beer styles, allowing Artisanal to share its diversity with a wider audience. “Every month we’ll release a beer style that we think customers will find exciting.” The series will include products such as an Oatmeal Stout, a Belgian Quad, and a hazy triple IPA.
Borchardt said, “We’re very excited about our partnership with DeCrescente. We’re ready to start expanding our production, they play and integral role in our expansion plans.”
