Center Employees Receive CP of NYS Awards

Employees from the Center for Disability Services were honored at the 2017 Cerebral Palsy of New York State awards dinner at the Saratoga City Center, as part of the organization’s annual conference, Imagine.

CP of NYS Staff Recognition Award winners from the Center were Jeanina Lamanna/Physical Therapy Assistant, Tracey Miller/Resident Counselor, Raymond Roque/Certified Teaching Assistant and Matt Shrader, Medicaid Service Coordinator.

Jeanina Lamanna is a workplace leader who provides guidance, training and a sense of stability to other employees in these transitional and challenging times. She makes necessary adjustments to ensure services are delivered to those in need and is described as having a willingness to adapt coupled with a positive attitude.

Tracey Miller is known for engaging the residents of Velina Drive and encouraging them as they make life decisions to the best of their ability. She instills confidence in residence staff members, demonstrates great respect for the people with disabilities she supports and is known as a leader.

Raymond Roque has an innate ability to see the student before the physical or cognitive disability. He mentors others with honesty and integrity. Roque puts the needs of his students and co-workers ahead of his own and his dedication in the classroom is unparalleled.

Matt Shrader keeps the values and mission of the Center top of mind. He advocates for human and civil rights for the individuals he supports through his work. His kind, person-centered approach leads to great achievements by the people he empowers.

Lamanna, Miller, Roque and Shrader were selected as award winners because they exemplify the Center’s values of excellence, teamwork, innovation and leadership and are outstanding representatives of all of the staff who make the Center for Disability Services the place where people get better at life.
