CAP COM Continues to Care for Colonie’s seniors

CAP COM Federal Credit Union continues to show its dedication to the seniors in our community by contributing $75,000 to the Capital Campaign for the planning, development, and construction of the King Thiel Senior Community, the area’s premier development for affordable, 55+ independent senior housing.

“CAP COM Federal Credit Union is honored to be able to support the King Thiel Senior Community.  We believe in making lives better today and tomorrow. Together, CAP COM and Colonie Senior Service Centers are working to do just that by partnering not only to provide funding for the project, but hands-on community support year round.  We look forward to being a part of this beautiful facility that will enable seniors to live an enjoyable lifestyle in a home they are proud of,” said Paula A. Stopera, President/CEO, CAP COM Federal Credit Union.

For nearly 20 years CAP COM has partnered with CSSC, including support of the Umbrella of Colonie program and the signature Warmth of Wine event that helps provide programming and financial support for home repairs and heating bills. In addition CAP COM initiated the “Holiday Angels” gift giving program where CAP COM staff adopts seniors. Last holiday season with the help of CSSC employees over 200 gifts were delivered to seniors in the community.

“CAP COM has been a long time supporter of CSSC and the seniors we serve.  CAP COM not only provides financial support, but gets their employees to buy into the missions of all the organizations they support,” said Ed Neary, Executive Director, Colonie Senior Service Centers.
