The Bonadio Group Responds to Growth in Albany with Leadership Promotions

The Bonadio Group, upstate New York’s largest independent provider of accounting, consulting, and financial services, now serves more than 16,000 clients in New York State, as well as nationally and internationally. With 10 offices and a growing number of employees, the firm has projected revenues of more than $106 million for fiscal year 2017. The firm is pleased to announce the following promotions and additions to their Albany office:

Partner Thomas Gianatasio, CPA, CFE, has been appointed to managing partner for the firm’s Albany office. Gianatasio will work with key roles in the firm that impact client service, morale, administration, the growth and integration of the firm and the development of professionals and staff.

Gianatasio joined The Bonadio Group in 1997 and became a partner in 2008. He is the team leader for The Bonadio Group’s Commercial Practice in Albany, NY. He oversees a team of experts that provide accounting, auditing, business consulting and tax services to a variety of clients. He has gained the trust and respect of clients he serves by going beyond the role of the traditional auditor and providing them with practical and cost efficient solutions to problems.

Tom received his Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from Siena College and his Masters of Science from The College of Saint Rose. He is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and is an honoree of Albany Business Review’s 40 under 40 program. His community involvement includes coaching youth basketball and baseball; Committee Member of ACE Mentor Program of Upstate New York; Past Treasurer of Ellis Hospital Foundation; Past Trustee and Audit Committee Chair of Northern Rivers Family of Services. His professional memberships include the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Janine Mangione, CPA, FHFMA has been appointed leader of the firm’s Albany Healthcare/Tax-Exempt Team. In this new position, Mangione will lead a team of experts who serve the Capital Region’s  tax-exempt and healthcare organizations needs in accounting, audit , healthcare and management consulting, tax compliance, and forensic accounting, among other areas.

Janine joined the firm in 2004 and became a partner in 2011. She has led the firm’s senior care and healthcare consulting practice since 2004. Janine has served the healthcare market providing accounting and auditing, various healthcare consulting services which has included Medicaid rate review, cost report preparation, managed care contracting, independent provider associations (IPA) formation, Office of the Medicaid Inspector General (OMIG) audits, certificate of need preparation and various other grant assistance, in New York State for over 20 years.

Janine graduated from St. John Fisher College, Magna Cum Laude, with a B.S. degree in accounting. She is the chair of the New York State Society of CPA’s Healthcare Committee, a member of the Payment for Services Subcommittee of the Joint Task Force, a member of Leading Age’s technical advisory group, and an active member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), serving on the Education Committee.  She serves on the finance committee and board of VNA Home Health.

Jim P. Wetzold, CPA, MST joined The Bonadio Group as a partner in 2017 after working at BDO USA in New York City.

He graduated from St. John’s University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, and earned a master’s degree in taxation from Fordham University. Jim provides tax compliance, consulting and controversy services to a wide range of clients in many industries—from SEC registrants to small, family-owned businesses. His more than 30 years of experience includes work with individuals, corporations, partnerships, S-corporations, estates and trusts.

Angela LaTerra has joined The Bonadio Group as marketing manager for the firm’s Albany office in May 2017.

Angela is responsible for all marketing/communications planning and implementation for the Capital Region as well as working with the firm’s Marketing Team to execute firm-wide communications activities. She has extensive experience in the marcom industry, including marketing, media relations, social media, event planning, advertising, sponsorships, and website management.

She received her Bachelor of Communications from the College of Saint Rose and is an honoree of the Destination Marketing Association International 30 under 30 Class of 2016 and Saratoga Leadership’s Class of 2016. She is a member of the Capital Region Chamber of Commerce and Southern Saratoga Chamber of Commerce.
