Alliance for Positive Health Names New Executive Director

The Board of Directors of the Alliance for Positive Health (formerly the AIDS Council of Northeastern New York), have announced that after a long search, they have appointed William F. Faragon as the new Executive Director. Board President Mark Ryan stated in a press release, “William brings years of experience to the position. We are delighted to name him our Executive Director effective January 1, 2016.”

During Bill’s 20 years with the agency he has been responsible for the finance, information technology, and administrative functions within the agency’s five offices. Bill serves as a member of the New York State Department of Health AIDS Institute HIV Advisory Body and was on the New York State HIV Prevention Planning Group, and is Co-Chairperson of the Albany Medical Center DSRIP Consumer and Community Affairs Committee. Bill has served as Board President and Treasurer of the Susan Odell Taylor School for Children in Troy, NY and Treasurer of the Ellen Sinopoli Dance Company. Bill graduated from Siena College and earned his Bachelor of Business Administration – Accounting.

“I am honored to have been selected into this role as the Alliance for Positive Health continues to expand its services to help more and more people in need,” Faragon said. “It is a privilege to be able to serve not only people with or at-risk for HIV, who have been at the core of our mission, but to be able to extend these services to other serious medical and social conditions.
