AlbanyCanCode Opens Registration for Spring 2021 Courses

AlbanyCanCode, a nonprofit organization creating a new generation of software coders in New York, announced the opening of registration for its Spring 2021 courses, which include a first-ever class in Microsoft Azure. All courses will be available to students from any region, with remote instruction continuing in the new year.

In addition to the inaugural class in Microsoft Azure and PowerPlatform , AlbanyCanCode is offering courses in Front-End Web Development and JavaScript Frameworks. Courses begin the week of February 15, 2021 and are held two nights per week, three hours per session, for 12 weeks.

In addition, KingstonCanCode, which launched its initial course this fall, will host its second class, Python for Data Analytics, in the spring.

“We’re excited to offer a full complement of courses, and to make them available to students in any region, at a time when the business world is rapidly transitioning to a digital and online environment,” said Annmarie Lanesey, Founder and CEO of AlbanyCanCode and KingstonCanCode. “We have learned through the pandemic that virtual learning is effective, and recent hires of our graduates to remote positions demonstrate growing job opportunities for our students.”

The Front-End Web Development course, which teaches technical skills necessary for user interface (UI) development and wire framing, will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays in partnership with Capital Region BOCES.

In JavaScript Frameworks , held Mondays and Wednesdays in partnership with SUNY Adirondack, students will take a more advanced dive into the dominant scripting tool for front-end web development. This course represents the more advanced of AlbanyCanCode’s two courses focusing on JavaScript.

All classes run from 5:45 to 8:45 p.m. Registration for AlbanyCanCode classes can be found here.

KingstonCanCode will offer a course in Python for Data Analytics , held Tuesdays and Thursdays in partnership with SUNY Ulster. In this course, students will learn the foundation of Python, with an additional focus on using the popular programming language for collecting, analyzing, and visualizing data.
