Tool Box Celebrates Grand Opening!

The Tool Box, a donation based, volunteer handyman run resale shop selling used tools and hardware to benefit seniors celebrates its grand opening on Thursday, November 19 at 11 a.m. with a ceremony on site at 1693 Central Avenue in Albany, NY.

A ribbon cutting and ceremony will commence with speakers from Colonie Senior Service Centers, volunteers, Umbrella members who have donated, Albany Guardian Society who helped fund the project and Frank Leak, Mayor of the Village of Colonie.

The Tool Box gives people looking to downsize an opportunity to donate tools to a good cause, and also the chance to pass down a part of their life.  The Tool Box sells these tools for a fraction of the going market rate, which provides a great opportunity for new homeowners, and other individuals looking for reliable, inexpensive tools. This is also an opportunity for those looking to volunteer and have an interest in tools. Funds raised by the Tool Box help seniors pay for repairs to maintain their home through the Umbrella of Colonie home maintenance program.

Colonie Senior Service Centers is an independent community based non-profit serving the largest population of seniors in the Capital Region.
