BlueShield of Northeastern New York today announced the relocation of its company headquarters to a new, stand-alone building at 40 Century Hill Drive in Latham. The move is expected to take place at the end of October 2015, working with regional real estate developer First Columbia.
BlueShield has signed a multi-year lease to become the sole tenant in the commercial building currently under construction, adjacent to BlueShield’s current offices at 30 Century Hill Drive. BlueShield has called the Century Hill Plaza office park home since 2002.
As the sole tenant of the new building, BlueShield’s logo will be showcased at the top of the building and visible from the Northway (I-87).
“We are proud to continue to serve the capital region,” Said Dr. Kirk Panneton, Regional Executive and Medical Director, BlueShield of Northeastern New York. “By signing a long-term lease on this enhanced facility, we are demonstrating our strong commitment to being the preferred health care plan for our community, and with 70 years experience in the market, our presence bodes well for employers as well.”
The new two story building will provide BlueShield’s 200 associates and visitors a state of the art workspace that incorporates meeting and training rooms, optimum workplace configurations, new office furnishings and workstations, significant use of natural light, a fitness center, and common space for employee meals and breaks.
First Columbia expects construction to be completed at 40 Century Hill Drive by mid-October. BlueShield’s move should be completed by the start of business on Monday, November 2. The move will cause no interruption in service to BlueShield’s members or provider partners.
The company’s phone numbers, fax numbers, mailing address (PO Box 15013 Albany, NY 12212) and e-mail addresses will not change.
BlueShield has been an Albany Business Review “Best Places to Work” for the past seven years.
