The Theatre Institute at Sage Presents The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley, May 10-20

Stanley Lambchop is your ordinary, everyday, run-of-the-mill, 10-year-old: normal mom and dad, normal little brother, normal life. That’s just the problem … for Stanley, life is too normal.

The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley is a production filled with infectious songs and nonstop adventure, making this a perfect show to introduce young audiences to live theatre.

The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley is based on the book by Jeff Brown and adapted by Timothy Allen McDonald. Music and lyrics are by Timothy Allen McDonald and Jonathan K. Waller. Music is by David Weinstein and Stephen Gabriel.

The Theatre Institute at Sage’s production of The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley is directed by Michael Musial, Edith McCrae Professor of Fine Arts and Professor of Music at Russell Sage College. He is the composer and co-lyricist of the award-winning Backbeard: The Musical. Directing and music directing credits include Candide, Children of Eden, The Secret Garden, A Chorus Line, Into the Woods and Sweeney Todd, among others. Musial also musically directed A Tale of Cinderella for the former New York State Theatre Institute’s 2001 state tour. He is a member of the duo-piano team Musial and Musial and also directs the Sage Singers.

The cast includes Russell Sage College students Tyler Cardona, Morgan Dempsey, Noah Dougherty, Cameron Richardson, Regina Desrosiers and Holley Kaiser.

Creative team designers include Lynne Roblin, costume designer; Vincent Pruchnick, stage manager; Alena Samoray, lighting designer; and Timothy Clow, scenic designer.
