YWCA of the Greater Capital Region, Inc. Inducts New “Godmothers”

YWCA of the Greater Capital Region, Inc. will install two new ”Godmothers” on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 in their gymnasium at 21 First St. Troy, NY at a small, physically-distanced ceremony.

YWCA-GCR’s ”Godparents” are special people who have dedicated their time, talent, and treasures to the services and mission of the organization. There are currently seven YWCA-GCR Godparents: Phyllis Conroy, Donald Csaposs, Mary Ann Willetts, Sandra Gull, Lori Schindler, and in memorium, Sally Catlin and Alane Hohenberg.

The new inductees are former YWCA-GCR Executive Director, Sherry Rounds and Rensselaer County Family Court Judge, Beth Walsh. Rounds served as Executive Director of YWCA-GCR from 2007 to 2013 and Judge Beth Walsh served as a trustee on the YWCA-GCR Board of Directors from 2010 to 2016.

“I have seen women and families lives turned around for the better due to the generous support of the hard working and compassionate staff at the YWCA-GCR,” said the Honorable Beth Walsh, “ I am honored to be inducted today with Sherry Rounds who was the executive director when I joined the board.”

The ceremony and reception will be attended by YWCA-GCR staff, friends, and trustees. Executive Director, Starletta Smith will speak.
