Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library Events July 27-August 2

Nature Book Walk—through September 7
Grab the whole family and visit the Town of Clifton Park’s nature trails and read a book along the way! A new book will be added each week. For more information, visit the Library website cphlibrary.org or the town’s website cliftonpark.org. Books and locations are planned as follows:

Page Turners Adventures: Imagine Your Musical Story—July 27-31
Travel back in time to save Ludwig Von Beethoven from the villainous Dr. Crescendo! Learn to make Australian clapping sticks and mini African drums. Middle-schoolers can create sharpie tie-dye T-shirts and bat puppets. Kids of all ages will enjoy a performance by 10-year-old blues sensation, Miles Hoyt. Knit Club—Tuesday, July 28 at 6 pm
Join us for a casual conversation about what we’ve been working on at home. All are welcome, including new participants. This online program uses the Zoom live streaming platform. It will require access to a computer, mobile device with the Zoom app installed, and/or a phone for audio-only access. Please provide a valid email address when registering to receive the Zoom meeting invite.

Learn Javascript—Tuesdays at 7 pm, July 28-August 11
JavaScript is one of the most popular programming languages, primarily used to add automation, animations, and interactivity to web pages. Journaling for Young Writers!—Thursday, July 30 at 4:15 pm
Local author Janine De Tillio Cammarata hosts this four-week workshop, covering different types of journaling techniques. No experience is necessary. For grades 3-5. This online program uses WebEx–the free, live-streaming platform. It will require access to a computer, mobile device with the WebEx app installed, and/or a phone for audio-only access. Please provide a valid email address when registering to receive the WebEx meeting invite.

Teen LEGO Challenge—Friday, July 31
Check out our Teen Instagram account, @cphlibteens, for a new LEGO challenge to create at home! Submit pictures of your creation to be entered to win an awesome prize!

Library Pen Pal—through July 31
There’s still time to be our Pen Pal! Introduce your child to the art of handwritten letters and write a letter to the Library. In return, your child will receive a handwritten, personalized note and a sticker from a library friend.

Family Concert: Our Amazing Earth!—Sunday, August 2
Join musician Elizabeth Sterling for an interactive concert inspired by nature. Learn about seasons, plants, and animals through sing-alongs and music played on the violin, piano, guitar, and more! Summer Reading Club Challenge!
Readers of all ages can participate in this summer’s reading challenges at the Library. Challenge cards for kids, teens, and adults can be picked up at the Library or printed at home from the library website. Read, keep track, participate in activities, and redeem for prizes.
