Colonie Senior Service Centers announces an open house to introduce their newest program, called THE CENTER, on January 10 from 3 – 5 p.m. The event will take place at The Beltrone Living Center at 6 Winners Circle in Albany, NY. The open house is free and all are welcome. Wine and snacks will be served.

THE CENTER is a place for individuals 55 years of age or older to learn, to grow, to exercise, and to be creative. Through offerings in categories such as Fitness Opportunities, Creative Pursuits, Lifelong Learning and Travel Experiences, members of the community will have the opportunity to be active in a trusted place.

The open house will feature instructors and staff members who will introduce and talk about what they teach. Attendees will have the chance to win gift certificates to THE CENTER which can be used toward membership, classes or events. Tickets to win raffle baskets will also be sold.

The core of what THE CENTER does is in the course offerings, which can be found at colonieseniors.org, and more events will be added each month. The newest catalog, for January, February and March has such offerings as painting, clay, embroidery, digital photography, ink stamping, sewing, paint and sip, memoir writing, genealogy, computer, ukulele, qigong, tai chi, line dancing and Zumba. Winter travel includes Troy Music Hall, an Albany Architecture Tour, Albany Institute of History and Art and Riverside Farms Maple Tour.
