First New York Dedicates Building to Israel

20161019_103545The Chamber was delighted to be a part of First New York Federal Credit Union’s dedication of its building at 1776 Union Street, Schenectady, on October 19 to Stephen Israel. When Israel joined the credit union in 1948, he had a vision of pure service to its members.  Over the years, the credit union’s name has changed three times, but the dedication to its members has lasted since day one. Stephen invested 66 years of time to the credit union and was the one to oversee the construction of the Union Street building in 1984. When Steve retired from the credit union in 2014, he left behind a legacy of service and professionalism. The credit union family will forever remember the shape the organization took under the leadership of such a great visionary.
