fenimore-asset-management-ribbon-cuttingFenimore Asset Management, the independent investment advisor to FAM Funds, held a ribbon cutting earlier this morning to celebrate the grand opening of the company’s new branch office at 4 Executive Park Drive.

Conveniently located behind Stuyvesant Plaza off Western Avenue, the approximately 1,400-square-foot first floor space includes a reception area, offices, and a spacious conference room where long-term investors can set up an appointment or stop by to have their portfolio reviewed and discuss investment management and financial services with experienced, in-house professionals.

The office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.  To set up an appointment, please call (800) 721-5391.

“Investment decisions are long-lasting and our investors appreciate a more personal approach,” said Thomas O. Putnam, who founded Fenimore Asset Management in 1974 as a means to manage family money after the Putnams sold their successful textile business, Fenimore Fabrics. “The new Albany office allows us to bring our experienced investment management team that much closer to Capital Region investors seeking a risk-averse, understandable investment approach.”

Added Fenimore Asset Management President Debra Pollard: “In a world where robo-advisors are becoming increasingly commonplace, our individually tailored service continues to differentiate us. Investors appreciate having the opportunity to sit face-to-face with our associates and gain from Fenimore’s decades of experience navigating complex economic and financial market cycles.”

Headquartered in Cobleskill in neighboring Schoharie County, Fenimore Asset Management offers separately managed accounts through the Fenimore Private Client Group and is the investment advisor to FAM Funds (mutual funds), which include the FAM Value Fund, FAM Equity-Income Fund, and FAM Small Cap Fund.
