Doane Stuart Lower School to celebrate International Day of Peace with “Pinwheels for Peace”

Lower School Students at The Doane Stuart School will celebrate International Day of Peace on Wednesday, September 21 at 10:00 AM by participating in the art installation project “Pinwheels for Peace.”

The students will create and display their colorful pinwheels – decorated with drawings, paintings, collages, photographs and words of peace and harmony – in front of the Doane Stuart campus.  They will also a sing a song about world peace.

Pinwheels for Peace was started in 2005 by two Art teachers in Florida as a way for students to express their feelings about what’s going on in the world and in their lives.  The project was quickly embraced and is now celebrated by millions around the world.
