Warmth of Wine In Its 11th Year of Helping Seniors Stay Warm

The 11th Annual Warmth of Wine, a wine tasting benefit to help seniors pay their heating bills, will take place on Thursday, February 25 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Century House in Latham.

Presented by Umbrella of Colonie, the home maintenance program of Colonie Senior Service Centers, the Warmth of Wine is a community event for friends of CSSC to get together and raise funds and awareness in our community for seniors who cannot afford the cost to heat their homes throughout the winter months. All funds raised go directly to seniors in need; the average person assisted by the Warmth of Wine lives on $1,200 per month with a winter heating bill of $800. In some cases, the funds are also used to repair outdated or inefficient heating systems.

Wine from around the world will be showcased at the event along with light fare and hors d’oeuvres, live and silent auctions, and a mystery wine pull where guests could walk away with a bottle of wine worth $150 or more!

The Warmth of Wine is sponsored by CAP COM Federal Credit Union, Exit 9 Wine & Liquor Warehouse, The Century House, M&T Bank, PRIME Life by Mazzone Hospitality, Latham Medical Group, Bouchey Financial Group, Haylor, Freyer & Coon, B95.5, CBS6, Lamar Outdoor Advertising and Capital Region Living Magazine.
