In the wake of Hurricane Harvey’s catastrophic flooding and widespread devastation throughout southeastern Texas, Towne, Ryan & Partners, P.C.’s attorney Robert H. Coughlin, Jr., was deployed Monday, September 11 to Texas by the American Red Cross as a Front Line Supervisor for a mobilized Disaster Assistance Team.

To support Coughlin’s efforts and those of the American Red Cross, in just over a week Firm members raised over $5,000, which was doubled to over $10,000 by a Firm match. The funds were donated to the American Red Cross Adirondack Saratoga Chapter, an organization Coughlin has dedicated himself to since 2008.

Coughlin has served the chapter in many capacities over the last decade, but his role as a member of the Disaster Assistance Team has led to deployments to various locations throughout New York State, and most recently to Tarboro, N.C. where he was stationed for two weeks as an American Red Cross shelter manager following Hurricane Matthew in 2016. Coughlin’s American Red Cross Front Line Supervisor certification allows him to run shelters.

Now on his sixth deployment, Coughlin was joined by wife, Eleanor Mullaney, Firm Principals Susan F. Bartkowski and James T. Towne, Jr. and other Firm members at the Albany International Airport on Monday morning for his send off to his duty station. Coughlin flew to the Red Cross’ Beaumont, Texas headquarters where he will receive his Shelter Supervisor assignment.
