January 16, 2018Scholarships for High School Seniors
First New York is passionate about education. We are excited to once again present collegebound high school seniors with the opportunity to compete for scholarship awards.We are now accepting applications for the First New York Scholarship Program. The scholarship program was created to help our young members improve their lives through the pursuit of a higher education. In 2018, we will be offering four $1,000 scholarships. One scholarship is dedicated to Jennie Pennington, a long-time board member and educator.
Application requirements:
- A member in good standing of First New
York FCU - A graduating high school senior
- Planning to attend an accredited two-year
or four-year college - An active community volunteer
- Completed application
- Copy of high school transcript
- Letter of reference commenting on your
character and abilities - Essay of 250 words or less describing what
motivates you to succeed and why - Scholarship committee interview for
selected candidates
Applications are available at any First New York branch and online until March 9, 2018. Completed applications can be mailed to First New York FCU – Scholarship Committee – 2 Wall Street, Albany NY 12205. Scholarship winners will be notified by April 20, 2018 and be invited to attend an awards ceremony on May 17, 2018.
