New Parenting Group with Free Childcare Included

The Schenectady Public Library in partnership with Schenectady City Schools, Samaritan Counseling, Strong Families Schenectady, and Ellis Mental Health are offering a free 6 week long program for parents of children ages 0-12 March 14 – April 18, 5 – 6:30 p.m.

Supporting Kids: Parents Helping Parents is a new community group that will bring parents together to tackle some of the biggest challenges that families face. Bond with other families and learn useful tips and tricks for positive discipline, getting kids to bed at night, homework, talking back, missing school, building your child’s self-esteem and more.

Parents and guardians are welcome to bring their children along as we will provide free childcare in the Slater program room along with a free dinner for both parents and children.

This group is facilitated by Jennifer Willwerth, LCSW and Susan Brown. LCSW-R. Jennifer works with children within the Schenectady City School District and serves on the advisory board for the Strong Families Schenectady initiative.

There is no cost to participate and you can register by calling any SCPL location or register yourself online through the library’s calendar of events.
