Mopco Launches Indiegogo Campaign for Schenectady Theater Renovations

The Capital Region’s favorite improv theater, The Mop & Bucket Co. (Mopco), launches an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign to raise $12,000. Mopco has purchased an empty firehouse at 10 North Jay Street in downtown Schenectady’s Little Italy neighborhood. Renovation will begin immediately to turn the derelict firehouse into a performance space and offices for Mopco, and its corporate training wing, Koppett. The project is 99% funded through private capital, traditional funding and a grant from Schenectady’s Metroplex Development Authority. Mopco’s new theater will be a cultural draw to Schenectady. The project serves the community in a number of important ways: New full- and part-time employment opportunities, enhanced walkability, blight transformation, community enrichment, and short-term construction employment.
