Luxury Foster Apartments in Downtown Schenectady Ready for Pre-Lease

The Historic Foster Building at 508 State Street in downtown Schenectady has been brought back to life, and is almost ready for its first occupants. Apartments are now available for lease, with a move-in date of December 1.

“We are right on schedule” said Jeff Buell, President and CEO of Sequence Development, the project developer. “We are thrilled to offer these apartments to the Capital Region, and have new residents call The Foster home. This is a building that needed to be saved, and we are almost there.”

The Foster building was built in 1907. Sequence Development is undertaking a $2.5 million renovation and restoration that will result in 10 apartments, office space and a first floor wine bar.

“The finishes in our apartments are influenced by the building’s history but are modern and state of the art.  The floors are sustainably harvested, the systems highly efficient, the fixtures sleek and elegant,” Buell said.

The ten apartments offer one, two and three bedroom floorplans. Rents range from $895 to $3200 per month for the Penthouse Suite. Amenities include quartz countertops, high end stainless appliances, hardwood flooring, walk-in closets, washers and dryers in every apartment and a video intercom system.

The sixth floor Penthouse apartment is 2600 sq. ft. and promotes a dramatic 360 degree view of Downtown and the surrounding countryside. Its carefully thought out floorplan is ideal for entertaining and its master bedroom boasts a palatial en suite bathroom with six-foot rain shower and two walk in closets.

“We believe one of the biggest amenities The Foster offers is its location” said Buell. “Downtown Schenectady is alive with restaurants, bars, theaters, shops, and a thriving weekly farmer’s market, all just steps from the Foster front door. There is something to do literally every night of the week!”
