Catholic Charities Appoints Aaron Howland Executive Director of Catholic Charities Disabilities Services

Vincent W. Colonno, CEO of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Albany, announced the appointment of Aaron Howland as the Executive Director of Catholic Charities Disabilities Services (CCDS).  Mr. Howland will begin serving in the position on June 4, 2018.

Mr. Howland has extensive experience working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and is greatly looking forward to joining the team at Catholic Charities Disabilities Services as the Executive Director. For the past seven years, Mr. Howland has served as the Compliance Officer for Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Albany, and in that role has worked extensively with CCDS in dealing with regulations and ensuring compliance. He has also been responsible for the management of Medicaid Redesign related initiatives for Catholic Charities. Through these experiences he has developed the know-how to help the agency successfully navigate a new system of managed care.

Prior to coming to Catholic Charities, for fifteen years Mr. Howland worked at Residential Opportunities, Inc. and through their merger with the Center for Disability Services in a variety of roles including: Residence Manager, Behavior Specialist, Director of Residential Services, and lastly as a Director of Quality Improvement. He has also been employed in both support and management positions at the ARC of Rensselaer.   In addition to his work experience, Mr. Howland has also served as a member of our CCDS Board of Directors from 2005 – 2010, including a term as President.

Catholic Charities Disabilities Services, an agency of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Albany, provides services and supports to over 600 children and adults who have intellectual and developmental disabilities, including individuals with traumatic brain injuries.
