Nonprofit Executive Roundtable: Protecting Your Tax Exempt Status in Changing Times

Times change, and thriving nonprofits change with them by finding new revenue sources and new ways to advance their missions.  But before you start that new program or buy that new building, make sure that you protect your nonprofit’s tax exempt status, its assets, and even its Board members and executive leadership, from new risks and liabilities. 

In this forum we’ll work through key issues for nonprofits engaging in new activity, such as:

• When do you need to formally change or expand your mission or form a new entity?
• What kind of revenue is taxable and what isn’t, and what can jeopardize your tax exempt status?
• How can you balance the need for risk management with administrative efficiency?
