February 16, 2022YWCA NorthEastern NY and C.R.E.A.T.E. Community Studios Showcase Local Artists through The Inspiring Women Project
YWCA NorthEastern NY and C.R.E.A.T.E. Community Studios have teamed up for another year to showcase our local artists through an exhibit celebrating women, The Inspiring Women Project. Artists of any age or gender are encouraged to submit artwork that represents a woman or women who inspire them. Suggested mediums include: paint, photography, collage, drawing, clay, and mixed media. All submitted artwork must be ready to hang – framed or mounted/matted. All submissions are due by March 5, 2022.
The exhibit will be shown March 14-31, 2022 at YWCA NorthEastern NY, located in the historic Stockade neighborhood in Schenectady. It will be open daily, Sunday through Saturday from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. It is free to attend, however if visitors wish to make a donation, all monies collected will be split between YWCA NorthEastern NY and C.R.E.A.T.E. Community Studios to support their programs.
Kim Siciliano, Chief Executive Officer at YWCA NorthEastern NY stated: “YWCA NENY is excited to offer this platform for local artists to showcase their work for another year. Heather Hutchison, Executive Director of C.R.E.A.T.E. Community Studios stated: “C.R.E.A.T.E. is proud to partner with YWCA NorthEastern NY again for this unique art exhibit honoring both local artists and empowering women. As an organization dedicated to using the arts as an equalizer across cultural and economic barriers, we see this exhibit as another way to help people see differing perspectives and experiences. Last year’s exhibit was an unqualified success, and we cannot wait to be inspired again!”
