LCR Program Experience
Each class brings together a diverse group of professionals representing a wide range of industries, backgrounds, perspectives, and learning styles. Throughout the program, participants will:
- Build strong relationships and an extensive network of classmates, alumni, the steering committee, and session-day presenters
- Engage with some of the Capital Region’s most effective and recognized leaders
- Explore critical community issues alongside peers and subject‑matter experts
- Strengthen leadership and teamwork skills through a hands-on community impact project
- Gain visibility as emerging or established leaders within their organizations and the region
- Discover meaningful pathways for community involvement and board service
Commitment & Expectations
Participation in the two-day opening retreat and the full-day closing session in May is mandatory.
Participants may have two emergency absences from monthly sessions held October through April.
Additionally, each participant must complete seven experiential activities outside of regular class sessions to graduate. These experiences—coordinated by program leaders—offer deeper insight into nonprofit and for‑profit organizations and their impact on the region. Examples include organizational tours, attending local government meetings, or volunteering.
Each class collaborates to reach consensus and deliver a community project, with 100% participation.
Participation is an investment in your leadership growth, your organization, and the future of the region—and requires commitment from both participants and their employers.
