Flu Shot Clinic Set for 11/4 at the Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Guilderland

Winter is just around the corner and one of the simplest steps you can take to stay healthy is to get the flu shot.

On Saturday, Nov. 4 from 1-3 p.m., The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Guilderland will host a flu shot clinic in partnership with Hannaford Pharmacy.

“The New York State Department of Health recommends that everyone six months of age and older receive a flu vaccination,” Chelsea Hanna, director of recreation, The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Guilderland. “Those older than 65 and people who deal with children or the elderly are especially encouraged to receive the shot, since they are at a higher risk to contract the disease.”

“Cases of the flu are most common from October through May,” explained Rebecca Poulin, pharmacy manager at Hannaford. “Ideally folks should aim to get the shot two weeks before the season starts because it can take up to 14 days to build up an immunity.”

Attendees are asked to bring their insurance cards with them to the clinic.
