Hack Tech Valley and You!

Next month, we are expecting to bring more than 100 of the greater Capital Region’s top programmers to a one-of-a-kind hackathon at Schenectady County Community College. In case you’re not familiar with just what a hackathon is, in essence, it’s a tech event where the end goal is for participants (working in teams) to create a piece of working software. The focus of this hackathon is technology surrounding Smart Cities.

Hack Tech Valley, scheduled for Feb. 10-11, will be a 24-hour event will include some speakers that will be of interest to the programmers in attendance, but their primary focus will be winning prizes valued at $5,000. There will also be raffles throughout the day. Details can be found at http://www.hacktechvalley.com.

We need others to partner in this endeavor to make it more than just a one-time  event but another transformational date when this region moved closer to becoming a tech destination and a place where our best and brightest minds can stay after graduation and establish meaningful careers.  So, if you know someone whom you think might be interested in participating, please forward this email to them. [Registration information can be found here https://hacktechvalley.devpost.com/].

There also are a variety of sponsorship levels for you to consider, opportunities to speak, to judge projects, and increase your company’s visibility. Please contact me at your earliest convenience if you are interested in sponsoring, so we can maximize your sponsorship dollar through various promotions. If you have other ideas not listed, I’m open to hear your thoughts. Sponsorship information can be found at http://hacktechvalley.com/doc/sponsorship.pdf.
