YWCA of the Greater Capital Region, Inc. Announces New Director of Development & Marketing

YWCA of the Greater Capital Region (YWCA-GCR) has hired Jamie Crouse as the Director of Development and Marketing. Crouse comes to YWCA-GCR from Robert C. Parker School, an independent pre-K through eighth grade school in North Greenbush where for the past two years, Jamie was the Director of Development and Communications. Crouse came to Parker in 2010 with a background in environmental education and helped the school launch the 11-week long summer program for children ages 4 to 14, Planet Parker. “I am thrilled about the opportunity to work at YWCA-GCR, an organization that provides such a vital need in our community,” said Crouse about the new position, “I’ve made a personal commitment to anti-racism and social justice, and this aligns so beautifully with the bold and unwavering mission of YWCA-GCR.”

“We are excited and fortunate to have Jamie Crouse join YWCA of the Greater Capital Region’s team. She is an experienced, dedicated and passionate leader and educator that will be instrumental in supporting and leading the organization’s development and marketing activities. Jamie is the right Development and Marketing leader to help YWCA-GCR accomplish its fundraising and marketing goals,” said Daquetta Jones, Executive Director, YWCA-GCR.

Jones will be departing YWCA of the Greater Capital Region on Friday, May 31, 2019 after a 5-and-a-half-year successful tenure. Jones was appointed as the Deputy Commissioner for Administration with New York State Civil Service in April 2019. Starletta Smith, Director of Transitional Housing and Family Services, has been appointed as the Interim Executive Director and will begin this role on Monday June 10, 2019. Smith has worked at YWCA-GCR for over a decade; 8+ years in a senior leadership role. Jones has confidence in both Smith and Crouse’s ability to lead the organization in their critical roles.
