Women-Owned Consulting Company Wins Local Award

LMB Development Consulting, LLC was recently recognized as the 2019 recipient of the Outstanding Small Business Award. Laurie Ballard, President and Founder of LMB Development Consulting, accepted the award at the Association of Fundraising Professionals NY-Mohawk Hudson Chapter 2019 National Philanthropy Day awards ceremony on November 13, 2020 at the Century House in Latham.

The Outstanding Small Business Award recognizes a local small business with less than 50 employees that demonstrates the true spirit of philanthropy through time, treasure and talent. Jennifer Lawrence, Chief Executive Officer at the SEAT Center, presented Ms. Ballard with the award and stated, “Laurie Ballard embodies the spirit of this award as a business owner, community leader, and a major contributor to the philanthropic community in the Capital Region, acting as a connector, bridge, liaison, technical assistance provider, and coach. If you or someone you know has ever launched a new business, you many know that the beginning road can be scary and full of risks. Laurie forged ahead anyway and successfully built a solid and reputable consulting firm. And our community is better for it.”

Other awardees for the event included: Gabriel Donovan, Youth in Philanthropy Award; Deborah Bennett, Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser; Morning of Kindness, Outstanding Fundraising Group; Eric Guzman, Outstanding Young Professional Fundraiser; Marcia Steiner, Outstanding Fundraising Professional; Kathy Lanni, Mark Woroby Spirit of Philanthropy Award, Gift Planning Group.

LMB Development Consulting is celebrating its third year of operations this December and supports nonprofit organizations and businesses in identifying, developing, and implementing short- and long-term strategies that promote growth and sustainability. “Having worked at all levels in the nonprofit industry, I understand the day to day challenges, and it is my privilege to work as a thought partner with nonprofits and businesses. Every day, I love the work that I do and the people that I have the pleasure of working with and serving.”
